3d-printing can provide several advantages over subtractive methods of mould-making. Production time can be decreased and is inherently less wasteful than many common techniques. The moulds themselves can be re-used for more casts with a reduction in cleaning and manual labor. Designers also benefit from increased geometric freedom and new material possibilities.
